The Golden State Warriors will face off against the New York Knicks on Tuesday night in a blockbuster matchup between two of the hottest teams in the NBA.
Ahead of the game, the Warriors made a roster move. According to NBA insider Jake Fischer, Golden State has converted two-way guard Pat Spencer to a standard NBA contract.

Of course, this is Spencer’s second season in the NBA after spending time as a lacrosse player. Spencer was a standout lacrosse player at Loyola University and was then selected first overall by the Archers Lacrosse Club of the Premier Lacrosse League in 2019.
Spencer ended up never playing a game of professional lacrosse and instead pursued a career in basketball. He was signed by the Capital City Go-Go of the G League in 2021 before the Warriors signed him in 2022.
This season, the 28-year-old guard is averaging 2.8 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game while shooting 38.6% from the field and 11.8% from three-point range through 28 games.
While Spencer has not seen a ton of minutes off the bench for Golden State this season, he has produced in his limited court time and the Warriors decided to sign him to a standard contract ahead of their playoff run.
Of course, the Warriors have been one of the best teams in the NBA since the trade deadline where they acquired Jimmy Butler to pair alongside Stephen Curry. The new star duo has worked well thus far as the Warriors currently sit sixth in the Western Conference standings.
Golden State will now face off against a red-hot Knicks team on Tuesday night and fans can catch the highly anticipated matchup at 7:30 p.m. EST on TNT.
