The Golden State Warriors, New York Knicks and Minnesota Timberwolves have been linked to Malcolm Brogdon, according to NBA insider Jake Fischer of The Stein Line.

Brogdon is an unrestricted free agent. He played for the Washington Wizards last season.

The 32-year-old Brogdon appeared in 24 games for the Wizards in 2024-25. He averaged 12.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 0.5 steals and 0.2 blocks while shooting 43.3% from the field, 28.6% from beyond the arc and 88.0% from the free-throw line.

Brogdon has played for the Milwaukee Bucks, Indiana Pacers, Boston Celtics, Portland Trail Blazers and Wizards. He won the 2017 Rookie of the Year Award with the Bucks and the 2023 Sixth Man of the Year Award with the Celtics.

A Virginia product, Malcolm Brogdon has career averages of 15.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.2 blocks. It will be fascinating to see where the veteran is playing next season.

The Warriors lost to the Timberwolves in the second round of the 2025 playoffs in five games, the Knicks lost to the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals in six games and the Timberwolves lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference Finals in five games.

Golden State hasn’t been able to make any moves this offseason because of Jonathan Kuminga‘s restricted free agency. Kuminga wants to leave the Warriors. However, since there are no teams with cap space to sign the forward to an offer sheet and the Warriors aren’t interested in what the Phoenix Suns or Sacramento Kings have offered them in sign-and-trade talks, Kuminga is stuck with the Dubs.

The 22-year-old Kuminga doesn’t have a good relationship with Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, sources told DallasHoopsJournal. At this point in the offseason, Kuminga either has to sign the contract Golden State is offering him or play next season on a $7.9 million qualifying offer, which would have an implied no-trade clause. The swingman would then hit unrestricted free agency next offseason.
