Golden State Warriors Reportedly Have Jonathan Kuminga Offseason Plan

Pivotal times are coming for the Golden State Warriors, and all eyes could be on Jonathan Kuminga.

The core of Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green, in a small sample size, seems capable of contending for an NBA title.

In fact, they seemed to be a dark horse contender this season, and an unfortunate hamstring strain for Curry is what led to the Warriors' season ending in the second round of the playoffs.

Now, Golden State general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. will have plenty of decisions to make as he aims to continue leveling up the squad around the veteran trio.

For Kuminga, the team bringing in Butler meant his role took a major hit. He also had a strained relationship with Warriors head coach Steve Kerr after a few run-ins between the two.

After his fourth season with the club, he's now headed to free agency, albeit as a restricted free agent, meaning decisions will need to be made from both sides.

According to ClutchPoints' Brett Siegel, the team won't just let the 22-year-old forward walk. Instead, they could explore other avenues, such as a sign-and-trade for a departure.

"The Warriors aren't prepared to let Jonathan Kuminga walk in free agency for nothing," Siegel reported. "A sign-and-trade continues to look increasingly likely, as reported at the start of May."

While there is a rough offseason plan in place, a reunion between the two sides isn't out of the question, as has been reported by multiple sources.

Outside of Kuminga, the Warriors will be in the market for big offseason decisions, such as improving the floor spacing and upgrading the big man position -- which could lead to an active summer for Dunleavy and co.
