Frustrations have started to brew for the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday. They faced the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Emirates NBA Cup quarterfinals of the Western Conference. Entering the game, the Suns were coming off a 108-105 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves without their star player, Devin Booker.

Against the defending champions, Booker was ruled out due to a groin injury. They had to face OKC without a star player, and the rest of the team had to step up. Grayson Allen was one of the players with high expectations. The former Duke guard is averaging 16.9 points (career-high), 2.9 rebounds and 3.9 assists.

In the third quarter, however, the Thunder had already dominated the Suns, 94-58. With 5:18 on the clock, Allen's frustration came out after he set a screen. The guard hit center Chet Holmgren with his forearm, causing him to fall to the ground.

After the incident, Thunder's Jalen Williams confronted Allen. The pair had to be separated by the officials and their respective teams. Following that, Phoenix's guard was given a flagrant 2 and was ejected from the game.

Allen left the game with 10 points on 57.1% shooting from the field. Without their star, the Suns have struggled to stay competitive this season. The Thunder, on the other hand, have cruised past their opponents.

The next time the two teams face each other will be on Jan. 4. Because of the NBA Cup, both teams will play five times this season.
