The Memphis Grizzlies fell to 3-4 on the season after a 117-104 loss to the Toronto Raptors on Sunday.

It marked the second straight loss for Memphis after a 117-112 loss at home against the Los Angeles Lakers, who are playing without LeBron James.

The Grizzlies played on Sunday without star guard Ja Morant, who was suspended for one game by the team after his comments in response to head coach Tuomas Iisalo's rotations.

While tension is brewing early on in Iasolo's first year as head coach, the team is expected to get a much-needed boost at some point.

On Monday, the Grizzlies made a move regarding Edey, which shows he is close to a return.

"The @memgrizz have assigned Zach Edey and GG Jackson II to the @MemphisHustle. Both players will be recalled from the Hustle following today's practice," per the team's PR account on X.

The team announced that Edey was cleared to resume basketball activities at the end of September.

Before the game against the Raptors, Edey was working out on the floor.

The big man was selected No. 9 overall in the 2024 NBA Draft after a terrific career with the Purdue Boilermakers.

In his rookie season in the NBA, he played in 66 regular-season games, averaging 9.2 points with 8.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in more than 21 minutes per game.

How much action Edey sees when he returns remains to be seen, but the Grizzlies getting him back is a positive sign.
