The Memphis Grizzlies won their second straight game on Sunday night to move to 11-13 on the season.
The Grizzlies defeated the Portland Trail Blazers, 119-96, and they had defeated the Los Angeles Clippers, 107-98, on Friday.
Against Portland, Jaylen Wells led Memphis with 16 points and five rebounds, but big man Zach Edey had 12 points with 10 rebounds in just 21 minutes as he fouled out of the game.
The Grizzlies are set to face the Utah Jazz at home on Friday, but they got some bad news on the injury front regarding Edey.
The Grizzlies PR account posted it on X.
"Zach Edey has been diagnosed with a stress reaction in his left ankle. He is expected to make a full recovery following a period of offloading and rehabilitation. Edey will be reevaluated in approximately four weeks, and further updates will be provided as appropriate."
Edey has played just 11 games this season, as he made his season debut in the middle of November due to injuries.

The former Purdue Boilermakers star is averaging 13.6 points with 11.1 rebounds and 1.9 blocks in 11 games this year.
Grizzlies beat writer Damichael Cole also added that Edey had been dealing with soreness this season.
Zach Edey recently told me that he was dealing with some soreness after games in his ankle, but it didn’t sound like major thing. Not sure if this is related, but this is a major gut-punch after Memphis started going on a run with Edey back.

Edey finished fifth in the Rookie of the Year voting last season after he was selected No. 9 overall in the 2024 NBA Draft.
The Grizzlies had gone 7-2 in their last nine games, but losing Edey for an extended period is not a promising sign.
