Grizzlies’ Cameron Boozer having ‘fun’ in Summer League debut

Cameron Boozer is excited to get his professional career in the NBA going. With the NBA Summer League underway, he got to make his debut for the Memphis Grizzlies against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday afternoon.

Boozer only spent one year at the collegiate level, representing the Duke Blue Devils. He shined as one of the best players in the country, going on to be the third overall selection in the 2026 NBA Draft.

The Grizzlies see a lot of promise from him, starting a new era with Boozer after moving on from stars Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. during and after the 2025-26 season. Boozer spoke with media following his Summer League debut, giving his thoughts on the overall experience.

How Cameron Boozer, Grizzlies played against Thunder

Cameron Boozer enjoyed a solid debut as he helped the Grizzlies dominate the Thunder 111-74 in their Summer League debut.

Memphis controlled the game from start to finish. They jumped out to an 11-point lead after the first quarter and grew the lead to as much as 33 points after three periods. The Grizzlies were on fire with their shooting, making 17 3-pointers from downtown while the Thunder only managed to make six triples.

Seven players scored in double-digits for Memphis in the win, including Boozer. He finished with a stat line of 15 points, four rebounds and four assists in 24 minutes of action. Olivier Maxence-Prosper came next with 17 points and five rebounds, Taylor Hendricks had 15 points and four rebounds, while Jahmai Mashack put up 12 points and four assists. Meanwhile, Cedric Coward, Javon Small and Carson Cooper provided 11 points each.

The Grizzlies will look forward to progressing through their Summer League journey in Utah. They face the Jazz next on July 6 at 9 p.m. ET.
