Lamar Stevens‘ first 10-day contract with the Grizzlies expired overnight, but he won’t hit the open market. Memphis has officially brought him back for another 10-day deal, as announced in a press release.

A Philadelphia native, Stevens went undrafted out of Penn State in 2020. He spent his first three seasons with the Cavaliers before being traded to the Spurs during the 2023 offseason.

After being waived by San Antonio, Stevens signed a training camp deal with the Celtics, eventually earning a spot on their regular-season roster.

Stevens was traded to Memphis ahead of last season’s deadline and finished the 2023-24 campaign with the Grizzlies. He then spent training camp with the Pistons this past fall but was released before the start of the 2024-25 season.

The 27-year-old forward had been playing in the G League with the Motor City Cruise before receiving a call-up from Memphis. He made his season debut on Saturday against San Antonio, recording six points and four rebounds in 16 minutes off the bench.

The Grizzlies (38-22) have lost two straight and are just 4-6 in their last 10 games, dropping to fourth place in the Western Conference standings. That said, they’re only a half-game behind the Lakers and Nuggets for second.
