While Luka Doncic may not entertain any smear campaign aimed towards him off the court, whenever he’s playing, he won’t back down from trash-talking. And Golden State Warriors big man Gui Santos learned that the hard way.
Truth be told, the Lakers superstar speaks many languages. In previous reports, he acknowledged that he is fluent in Slovenian (his native language), Serbian, Bosnian, Montenegrin, Spanish, and English. At this point, it’s safe to presume that he’ll know a thing or two about what’s been said behind his back, coming from foes on the court.
That’s why, when Gui Santos called Luka Doncic about his flopping, he was surprised when the latter responded in Portuguese.
“Shut up, you son of a b----,” Santos revealed what Doncic said to him on the court (video here; warning: viewer discretion advised).
Gui Santos shares a story about Luka Doncic cursing him out in Portuguese after he complained to the ref about Luka flopping:

“Shut up, you son of a b*tch."
Gui was in "shock" that Luka knew how to trash talk in his native language.

While Spanish and Portuguese are nearly identical, they are still different languages. Surrounded by Spanish and Portuguese athletes while he was in Madrid, Luka definitely knows a thing or two about how to trash-talk in both languages. Santos, who hails from Brazil, thought he got away with using his native tongue when berating Luka.
Well, at least he learned his lesson and made light of the incident.
With the Los Angeles Lakers out of title contention, the team is now facing a ton of questions as they head into the offseason. They have a bunch of guys who will enter free agency. It’s safe to say that the team may look very different next season. But one thing’s for sure – Luka Doncic will still be in LA.
And according to new reports, the 27-year-old superstar has begun building a strong relationship with new Lakers owner Mark Walter. Doncic is reportedly impressed with the communication from the organization’s top brass.
Let’s see how Walter builds a title-worthy team in the summer. No doubt Luka will also have a say on things moving forward. After all, he’s now become the face of the Lakers.
