Unsurprisingly, another team has entered the Jrue Holiday sweepstakes.
The Atlanta Hawks have emerged as a possible destination for the New Orleans Pelicans guard, according to Marc Stein of The New York Times. Atlanta would try to acquire Holiday in a multi-team trade involving the sixth overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.
Any team trading for Holiday, of course, has to be cognizant of his contractual situation, with the Pelicans' guard -- regarded as one of the league's foremost two-way players -- expected to decline his $27 million option for 2021-22 and become a free agent after this season

New Orleans, which owns the 13th, 39th, 42nd and 60th overall picks, made Holiday available in trade discussions earlier this month. The Denver Nuggets are reportedly among the teams who are interested in acquiring the 30-year-old.
The two-time All-Defensive Team selection had a solid 2019-20 campaign for the Pelicans, averaging 19.1 points, 4.8 rebounds and 6.7 assists while shooting 45.5% from the field and 35.3% from deep in 61 starts.
Holiday is set to earn $25.4 million during the upcoming season and will then have the opportunity to exercise a $26.3 million player option in 2021-22 or test the market.
