Hawks Reportedly to Sign 6-Foot-5 Ex-Magic Guard

The Atlanta Hawks continue to re-tool their roster with the NBA playoffs looming ahead.

The Hawks made several moves and acquisitions before this year's trade deadline on Feb. 6 after losing key players Jalen Johnson and Kobe Bufkin to season-ending injuries. The team moved on from veteran players De'Andre Hunter and Bogdan Bogdanović and sought help from the Los Angeles Clippers in bringing in Terance Mann and Bones Hyland.

As one of the busier teams during this year’s trade season, the Hawks continues to be active, bringing in a former G League player to occupy their final roster spot.

The Hawks have been hovering around the play-in spot for most of the season, and with the end of the season in sight, they are looking to improve their team as they face a crucial series of games to secure a playoff spot.

Shams Charania reported on Feb. 28 that Atlanta will be signing ex-Orlando Magic forward/guard Kevon Harris from their G League College Park affiliate team to a 10-day contract.

The move to add Harris is seen as a strategic move to add depth and and energy to the roster who has struggled maintaining consistency, often alternating between winning streaks and losing skids. The team is currently on a two game losing streak and is occupying the ninth seed in the Eastern conference.

Harris has played in two regular-season games this year, averaging just 2.0 points on 66.7% shooting from the field. He signed a two-way contract with the Magic back in 2022-23 where he spent two seasons, appearing in 36 games for the team.

He was named MVP of this year's G League Up Next Game during 2025 All-Star Weekend where he finished with 19 points.

Harris appeared in 21 games for College Park, averaging 19.7 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 3.3 assists, as well as shooting 42.9% from the 3-point line.
