Heat guard Avery Bradley upset to learn he got COVID at work

Miami Heat guard Avery Bradley has not played since Jan. 9 against the Washington Wizards due to health and safety protocols. The 30-year-old tested positive for COVID-19 and now he's speaking out about his frustration regarding the virus.

In an interview on the "Posted Up with Chris Haynes Podcast," Bradley revealed how upset he was after testing positive for the coronavirus while at work. The NBA has several health and safety protocols in place, but the risk of getting the virus is still there.

"To be honest, I was upset because I come to work and I do the right things, I come to work every single day and do all the protocols to make sure I'm protected so I can protect my family. To come up with the news knowing that I got it at work, I was a little frustrated to be honest," Bradley said, as transcribed by Yahoo Sports. "I was frustrated because I felt like it compromised my family's safety."

Bradley opted out of the NBA's Orlando bubble last season because his son, Liam, suffers from a respiratory illness. Bradley didn't want to put his son's health in jeopardy by playing.

Despite his COVID-19 diagnosis, it seems like Bradley is committed to finishing the 2020-21 season.

He is planning to return to the lineup on Wednesday when the Heat take on the Denver Nuggets.

In seven games, the former Los Angeles Laker is averaging 10 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists while shooting 49% from the field and 44.8% from deep.
