The Miami Heat have agreed to a deal with free agent guard Jahmir Young, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. Young is expected to compete for one of the team’s two-way contract spots, likely beginning with an Exhibit 10 deal that can be converted before the regular season.

Young, 24, went undrafted out of Maryland in 2024 and began his professional career with the Grand Rapids Gold, Denver’s G League affiliate. He signed a two-way contract with the Chicago Bulls in February and finished the season there before being waived in July to clear space for Yuki Kawamura.

The 6-foot-1 point guard appeared in six NBA games for the Bulls, logging 30 minutes. Most of his success came in the G League, where he averag ed 21.7 points, 7.0 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 1.9 steals across 43 games with Grand Rapids and the Windy City Bulls.

While his 3-point shooting was inconsistent early, he closed the season by hitting 39.7 percent from beyond the arc in 13 games with Windy City. He was named to the G League All-Rookie Team and finished third in Rookie of the Year voting.

Young reportedly received interest from the Perth Wildcats of Australia’s NBL this offseason but will remain in pursuit of an NBA role.

Miami currently has Vladislav Goldin and Myron Gardner in two-way slots, leaving one opening available for training camp competition.
