Heat Signing Keshad Johnson To Two-Way Contract

Johnson, who spent four seasons with San Diego State prior to transferring to Arizona for his “super senior” season in 2023/24, went undrafted a couple years ago. He quickly signed a two-way contract with Miami and was promoted to a multiyear standard deal in late December of 2024.

The 25-year-old has played a modest NBA role in his first two seasons with the Heat, averaging 3.7 points and 1.9 rebounds on .531/.314/.658 shooting splits in 48 combined appearances (7.9 minutes per game).

However, has been a standout at the G League level with Miami’s affiliate team, the Sioux Falls Skyforce, including averaging 17.4 PPG, 8.6 RPG, 2.9 APG, 1.9 BPG and 1.5 SPG on .515/.471/.625 shooting in eight contests last season (35.3 MPG).

Johnson, who won the 2026 dunk contest in February, didn’t receive a qualifying offer at the end of June, making him an unrestricted free agent. He reportedly worked out around the team throughout the offseason and now will be back with the Heat on a two-way deal.

As our two-way tracker shows, Miami currently has a two-way opening, so no corresponding move will be necessary to sign Johnson. The Heat’s others two-way players are rookie guard Tre Donaldson and center Vladislav Goldin, who’s entering his second season.
