Hornets Waive Théo Maledon
USA TODAY Sports

The Charlotte Hornets announced Thursday evening that they have waived guard Théo Maldeon, who was on a two-way contract.

Maldeon appeared in 13 games this season for the big league club, making one start. He saw most of his playing time at the beginning of the season when the team was extremely shorthanded in the backcourt. In those outings, he averaged 4.2 points, 2.2 assists, and 1.8 rebounds per game while shooting 28% from the field and 16% from three-point range.

In 44 games with the team last season, Maledon posted 6.7 points, 3.5 assists, and 2.8 rebounds per contest. With James Bouknight getting closer to a return and the injuries to the Hornets' frontcourt, the front office had to adjust the roster.
