Houston Rockets head coach Ime Udoka could be a real factor as free agency is quickly approaching. Coaches known for developing talent and extending careers are also highly attractive to players. Udoka, for example, turned the Rockets into the number two seed in the Western Conference this season, but he is also known for creating a selfless, motion-heavy system that maximizes players' strengths and reduces wear and tear.
NBA insider Chris Mannix talks about why players like to play for Udoka.
"Every player in the league loves (head coach) Ime Udoka. Every player wants to play for Ime Udoka. That's a real asset that the Rockets have," said Mannix.
The Rockets will be one of the most talked about franchises this season as they have the flexibility to add to the roster. Outside of players wanting to play for Udoka, they have good draft capital and young players who can be a part of any trade.
"The team that I'm still watching the closest is going to be Houston," Mannix said of his offseason outlook. "Can Houston make a play for Giannis? I'm sure they would love to," said Mannix.
It's a great time to be a Houston Rockets fan as the front office continues to make it one of the better rosters in the league.
