The 2024-25 NBA season has been a rollercoaster for the Golden State Warriors. Saturday night's tight 109-105 victory over the Phoenix Suns was certainly a high point on that ride.

After starting the year 12-3, the Warriors matched that in the other direction, going 3-12 over their next 15 games. After leveling up their record at 15-15, they are officially 1-0 in their new stretch.

Jonathan Kuminga was a big reason the Warriors managed to get back into the win column and snap their three-game losing streak. The fourth-year pro matched a career-high 34 points while coming off the bench.

Kuminga has had a strong stretch of games. He has scored at least 26 points in three of his last four games. Kuminga has scored 20 or more in six of his last nine games.

"He's turning a corner," Warriors head coach Steve Kerr told reporters at the post-game press conference. "He's seeing the pictures well. ...The blend of Steph [Stephen Curry], Draymond [Green], JK, now it starts to really get powerful. I'm so impressed with JK. ...He played so hard last night and again tonight. ...He was fantastic, and this is exactly what we're looking for. It's fun to see him deliver."

"It's just a natural process," Kuminga told reporters. "Everybody in [the] organization [is] playing a big part of it, helping me throughout every situation. Including my coaches, including Steve, including my teammates, [they're] just trusting me."

Kuminga got off to a slow start in the 2024-25 campaign. It left many wondering whether he would ever be capable of truly ascending to that next level. While everyone will be patient in watching whether the sample size here gets larger for Kuminga, it is tough to deny how encouraging his play has looked for the Warriors.
