Tuesday night marked an NBA first as Alex Antetokounmpo made his debut with the Milwaukee Bucks, joining his brothers Giannis Antetokounmpo and Thanasis Antetokounmpo on the active roster. Having signed a two-way contract last fall, Alex’s appearance made the Antetokounmpo brothers the first sibling trio to play together on the same NBA team simultaneously.

In the win over the Dallas Mavericks, only Alex, the youngest of the Antetokounmpo brothers, took the floor. Giannis, the middle brother, remains sidelined due to injury, but he ensured Alex got to savor a historic moment, as his first NBA points, all three from free throws, came against Dallas.
The Greek Freak watched from the sidelines, waiting for a pause in the action so he could retrieve the ball Alex Antetokounmpo used to score his first NBA points. He felt it only right that his younger brother got to keep such a meaningful game ball.

“Hey, man. I can retire now,” Giannis commented after his brother made a free throw. “I’ve done it all man. I can retire now.”
Perhaps one day all three Antetokounmpo brothers will share the court together. If that happens, it would create yet another historic moment in NBA history.
The NBA has seen a growing number of family connections in recent years. Last season, LeBron James and his son Bronny James became the first father–son pair to play in the same game on the same team.
This season, brothers Stephen Curry and Seth Curry joined the Golden State Warriors roster together, though they haven’t yet logged minutes on the court at the same time. Other sibling duos have played in the league, but none have reached the historic milestone achieved by Giannis Antetokounmpo and his brothers.
