After spending some time in the Milwaukee Bucks organization, Giannis Antetokounmpo’s youngest brother will now be playing elsewhere.
Giannis Antetokounmpo is many things. He is a seven-time All-Star, a two-time league MVP, an NBA Champion, and a future Hall of Fame candidate. According to ESPN’s Shannon Sharpe, the Greek Freak is also a nepotist.
In light of the recent comments made by the Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo regarding how he’ll handle his upcoming contract extension, it’s clear that the Bucks need to do something in order to show their commitment to winning.
The Bucks have waived forward Alex Antetokounmpo, shortly after signing him and enabling the organization to retain his G League rights, per Eric Nehm of The Athletic.
The Milwaukee Bucks signed then immediately waived Alex Antetokounmpo, the youngest among the basketball-playing Antetokounmpo brothers. It was Michael Sotto of HoopsHype who reported that the Bucks signed Alex, brother of Giannis and Thanasis, who are currently teammates at the Bucks.
Alex Antetokounmpo is coming off a year where he played in the G League for the Wisconsin Herd. In 32 regular season games, Antetokounmpo averaged 5.8 points and 3.0 rebounds per contest while shooting 37.2% from the field (he also appeared in 14 Showcase Cup games).
There are now not one, not two, but three Antetokounmpos on the Milwaukee Bucks roster.
The Bucks have reached agreement on a contract with forward Alex Antetokounmpo, per Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. While details weren’t revealed, it’s highly likely an Exhibit 10 training camp contract — meaning Antetokounmpo will count toward to offseason roster of 20 but won’t be given a standard or two-way deal unless he makes the team.
The Bucks have added a third Antetokounmpo brother to their offseason roster, according to RealGM’s official NBA transaction log, which lists Milwaukee as having recently signed Alex Antetokounmpo to a one-year contract.

The Wisconsin Herd, Milwaukee's G League affiliate, acquired Alex Antetokounmpo in a trade with the Raptors 905, Toronto's G League affiliate.
