Luka Doncic made it very clear to those critics knocking him for his conditioning and weight issues.
After years of being slammed for his offseason laziness, Luka Doncic is taking steps to prove people wrong.
Doncic unveiled his body transformation to Lakers fans, who were thrilled to see their point guard in the best shape of his career.
Dallas Mavericks fans couldn’t believe Doncic’s transformation either, with many noting that he had never looked as good during their time there.
Ron Harper thinks Doncic got too comfortable in Dallas, but he has found the hunger he needs to thrive in Los Angeles.
Well, Doncic has taken some time to respond to the critics who have called him out for years over his weight and conditioning problems.
Luka Doncic made an appearance on The Today Show recently. When one of the hosts asked Doncic about the criticisms leveled at him in the past, Doncic didn’t hold back.
Luka admitted that he didn’t pay much attention to the criticism, and chose to let his talent do the talking. But as he grows older and enters his prime, he wants to take the steps to have a healthy career.
“Honestly, I try not to read much into it. I still think I was a pretty good basketball player back then, no matter what people say.
“But I think it was the next step of my career, and in the end, I’m still 26 and I have a long way to go.”
It’s clear that Doncic is motivated to prove people wrong ahead of the new season. And having gotten into great shape, Doncic could be scary for the rest of the NBA.
