Illinois basketball continues to wait for the arrival of big man, Tomislav Ivisic. Per Derek Piper of Illiniinquirer.com, Assistant coach Orlando Antigua spoke to the media during Kendall Gill’s annual golf outing. Antigua shared that Ivisic is currently going through the process with the Croatian embassy and should hopefully receive clearance at any day. The news looms large as Illinois basketball is heavily relying on Ivisic at the center position. The Croatian is a true 7-foot prospect that some project to start for the Illini.

A supremely important piece

Ivisic is the final piece that has yet to arrive on campus. Illinois basketball has all of their players on campus otherwise. On the depth chart, Ivisic sits ahead of true freshman, Morez Johnson Jr. and Notre Dame Transfer, Carey Booth. Though both Johnson Jr and Booth are very talented, the Illini could use some added depth and age. Tomislav would immediately be able to fill that role for Illinois. Tomislav’s brother, Zvonimir, had to wait to receive eligibility before debuting in the middle of the season for Kentucky. For Illinois basketball’s sake, Tomislav will be immediately eligible once he arrives on campus.
