The Indiana Fever are playing without several key players given injury issues throughout the WNBA season, working under head coach Stephanie White.

Indiana matched up against the Minnesota Lynx after a long break, looking to take down the No. 1 team in the WNBA.

The Fever entered the matchup with five players out: Caitlin C lark, Sophie Cunningham, Sydney Colson, Chloe Bibby and Aari McDonald.

While White deals with the workload of a thin lineup, Kelsey Mitchell took over for the Fever against the Lynx.

During the 95-90 loss for the Fever on Friday, Kelsey Mitchell scored a team-high 27 points with five assists. As the game concluded, she became the 10th player in WNBA history to reach 650 career three-pointers.

Mitchell made five three-pointers out of seven attempts, reaching 651 total three-points made in 269 games. She passed WNBA legend and former Indiana Fever forward DeWanna Bonner on the all-time list, who has scored 650 three-pointers in 527 games.

The Indiana Fever will have a chance for payback against the Lynx when they face Minnesota on Sunday in a two-game, head-to-head series.

Indiana has eight games remaining on their season schedule, including the next matchup against the Lynx.

Entering Friday's game, Kelsey Mitchell has posted 20.4 points, 1.9 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game for the Indiana Fever.

Mitchell has helped lead the Fever with the loss of Caitlin Clark, having previously displayed one of the best backcourts in the WNBA.

In her second season in the WNBA, Caitlin Clark was averaging 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 8.8 assists per game.
