Injury Report: Devin Booker Remains OUT for the Suns vs. Mavs Game on Friday

Booker has tried his best to remain healthy and available for the Suns. He played 26 consecutive games, starting from the season-opener against the Los Angeles Clippers. The former Kentucky shooting guard was the only star player on the team who didn’t miss a game until the injury bug got to him.

The Suns star will not play against the Mavs, according to a report published on Thursday by Suns Insider Gerald Bourguet. Bol Bol and Grayson Allen are likewise marked as out and unavailable. Allen is under the NBA’s concussion protocol and has missed the past two games for Phoenix. Bol, on the other hand, is dealing with a left knee contusion.

“Devin Booker (left groin strain), Grayson Allen (concussion protocol) and Bol Bol (left knee contusion) remain out for the Suns’ game against the Mavs tomorrow,” Bourguet reported via X (formerly Twitter).

Booker is a valuable player for the Suns this season. He’s the team’s second-leading scorer, averaging 25.1 points on 34.5% shooting from beyond the arc.

For Dallas, they will miss Luka Doncic against Phoenix as he’s dealing with a left calf strain and is expected to miss at least one month . Aside from Doncic, two other Mavs players are on the injury report, Dereck Lively II and Donte Exum. Lively is questionable because of a left hip contusion and Exum is out, recovering from his surgery.

Devin Booker has struggled early to start the 2024-25 NBA season. Although he’s still getting his usual numbers, Booker has never been efficient in the campaign. On the field, he’s making 43.9% of his shots, the fourth-lowest efficiency of his career. Beyond the arc, he’s made 34.6% from downtown, which isn’t new. He’s shot 34% from three in his career.

While it appears that Booker might be on a shooting slump, it hasn’t bothered him. The 6-foot-6 shooting guard has been aggressive on offense, making defenses pay and taking advantage of the looks he’s given.
