Russell Westbrook is yet to find a new team to play for the 2025-26 NBA season.

With 17 years of experience under his belt, there’s no doubt that Russell Westbrook has had a terrific NBA career.

However, after opting out of his player option with the Denver Nuggets, Brodie has failed to find a new team.

Considering he’s already 36 years old, it could be Russ’ final shot at potentially winning an NBA Championship.

Brett Siegel believes Russell Westbrook hasn’t likely received any ‘firm’ offers

Over the last few years, it’s abundantly clear that Westbrook is no longer in the prime of his career. Despite that, he averaged a solid 13.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game for the Nuggets last season.

He did so while playing 27.9 minutes per game over 73 matchups during the regular season. Speaking of Westbrook’s future, NBA insider Brett Siegel recently dropped a concerning verdict on the same.

“I think if he had a very firm offer on the table from a team that would have offered him an opportunity for 20 plus minutes a game, I’m pretty sure he would have taken that…

“I don’t think any team is going to sign him for anything more than the minimum at this point,” Siegel said on Sactown Sports 1140.

In simple terms, Siegel suggested that no NBA team has offered Westbrook a role with at least 20 minutes per game. Thus, he remains an unrestricted free agent.

One Eastern Conference team could sign Russell Westbrook

Even with Westbrook being in the twilight years of his NBA career, one Eastern Conference team has been suggested as an ideal destination for the former MVP.

It’s the Milwaukee Bucks, as Westbrook could be Damian Lillard’s replacement. However, Siegel suggested a different Eastern side.

“If they [Atlanta Hawks] needed a point guard, I could see that fit,” Siegel added.

While the Atlanta Hawks are currently dealing with the Trae Young contract situation, adding a veteran guard like Westbrook could be an excellent addition.

Of course, Russ will be required to come off the bench as it’s unlikely the Hawks will offer him a starting role at this point in his career.
