The Golden State Warriors have yet to make a move in free agency as they continue to navigate Jonathan Kuminga's contract stalemate.
They extended him a qualifying offer, but they're still holding out salary cap space in the case they need to complete a sign-and-trade with him.
NBA insider Marc Stein still believes they will end up adding both Al Horford and De'Anthony Melton at some point in free agency:
"My expectation is that one way or another, the Warriors are going to end up with both [Al] Horford and [De'Anthony] Melton on their roster," Stein said on 95.7 The Game's "Willard & Dibs."
Horford, who's 39 years old and has already won an NBA championship, is reportedly in no rush to get a deal done. He's also potentially mulling retirement.
He would be a welcome addition to the Warriors' floor-spacing offense, given his high basketball IQ, solid passing and ability to spread the floor with his shooting.
The Warriors have an opening in the frontcourt after losing Kevon Looney in free agency, and Horford could provide a strong push on both ends of the floor, even at this point in his career.
As for Melton, he's already familiar with the system after playing six games in the Bay Area before a season-ending ACL sprain ended his tenure there. He averaged 10.3 points and 2.8 per game and would give the Warriors another offensive spark off the bench who can guard both backcourt spots.
