Insider Reveals Draft Prospect He Keeps 'Circling' for Golden State Warriors

After the draft lottery has finally concluded, the Golden State Warriors will select at the 11th spot in June. Will they hang on to it or dangle that pick in the hopes of landing another star to pair with Stephen Curry?

With Steve Kerr back on a two-year deal, it looks like the team is eschewing the reset button for a while. Whether their dynasty is dead or not, Kerr’s signing serves as an indicator that they will not opt for a rebuild. But will they keep their pick in the 2026 NBA Draft? After all, not too many prospects at that spot can immediately help a team that is in a win-now mode. But in case they do, they already have someone they are interested in.

“Name I’ve circled at 11 and I’ll keep circling: Tennessee F Nate Ament,” according to a report from Tim Kawakami.

For additional context, Nate Ament played for the Tennessee Volunteers last season. He is a 6-foot-10 small forward who averaged 16.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per night in his lone college year. The problem is that he’s shot a paltry .39% on the floor for the Volunteers. His three-point shooting is much worse, at only 33% on nearly four attempts per game.

The Golden State Warriors Wants To Keep Kristaps Porzingis

With Jimmy Butler projected to be out for most of next season, it’s highly likely that the Dubs will find other avenues to improve their roster. Even at 38, Stephen Curry remains one of the best players in basketball. Aside from eyeing Nate Ament via the draft, reports also suggest that they want to extend often-injured Kristaps Porzingis once the offseason begins.

“Early talks surrounding Porzingis’s projected contract point in the direction of a deal somewhere in the $18 million to $24 million per year range on a 1+1 type of contract involving a player option. As for Green, his $27.7 million player option holds the key to the Warriors’ offseason,” Brett Siegel wrote in his recent reports.

Porzingis only played 15 games with the Golden State Warriors last season after acquiring him in February. The biggest hindrance to his career at this stage is his health.
