Insider reveals latest trade intel on Sixers, James Harden

James Harden’s desire to be traded to the Los Angeles Clippers has been widely reported and discussed. But the ongoing saga between the guard and the Philadelphia 76ers, specifically president of basketball operations Daryl Morey, doesn’t appear to be shifting in the Beard's favor.

The latest report on Harden and a potential trade explains that the Sixers guard is essentially keeping his fingers crossed and hoping things pan out the way he’d like them to. According to Jake Fischer of Yahoo! Sports, Harden “still hopes to be moved to the L.A. Clippers.”

This can’t be an overly surprising thing to hear, and while it hasn’t been as commonly referenced or discussed as Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard’s desire to join the Miami Heat, it’s still been a popular topic since his trade request.

Fisher also warned of “more fireworks coming” between Harden and the Sixers, whether it be at the team’s practice facility in New Jersey or in Colorado Springs, Colo., during their training camp.

At this point, it’s tough to envision a world where things don’t get more tense than they already are between Harden and the Sixers. Philly’s front office appears to be more than content to wait out a trade with the hope of getting a stronger deal, while Harden has no desire to play for the Sixers, especially Morey, ever again.

So when factoring both of these aspects in, attempting to calculate the odds of a clean breakup between the franchise and Harden would make it land somewhere in the “highly unlikely” zone.
