The Boston Celtics will be taking on the Dallas Mavericks for the second time this season but this game has a different feel to it. Dallas is coming off a massive trade, sending star guard Luka Doncic to the rival Los Angeles Lakers.
The Mavericks recieved star big man Anthony Davis in the deal and he could end up making his debut for the team today against Boston. Heading into the day, Davis was listed as questionable as he recovers from an injury that he suffered with Los Angeles.
Davis was listed as questionable and will be out for this game.
Jason Kidd officially rules Anthony Davis out for tonight’s game.

He says Davis is trending in the right direction and that he will hopefully play Saturday at home against Houston.
He also says PJ Washington and Anthony Davis will start at small and power forward when healthy.
Davis could provide some big problems for the Celtics and he will surely be fired up to play for his new team. Like everyone else, the trade of Davis came as a big surprise to him as he wasn't expecting to be moved by the Lakers.
The big man played against the Celtics a few games ago as Los Angeles took down Boston easily. Davis put up 24 points, eight rebounds, three assists, one steal, and three blocks in the win for the Lakers.
His presence on the floor can impact both sides of the ball so Boston will need to be careful to note where he is at all times. Combining Davis and guard Kyrie Irving could make for a lethal pick-and-roll combination, giving Dallas a scary offensive attack.

But losing Doncic does hurt and it may take this team some time to fully learn how to play together. The Celtics will look to take advantage of that fact and come away with another win.
This NBA Finals rematch will draw eyes on it but Boston easily beat the Mavericks in the first meeting weeks ago. The final score was 122-107, with the Celtics coasting to a win.
Boston seems to have the number of the Mavericks but without Doncic on the roster, this is an entirely different team on the floor.
