After the Milwaukee Bucks tumultuous start to the 2024-25 season, in which they were expected to dominate but have instead posted a disappointing 4-8 record in the first month, rumors are swirling about potential internal conflict. The main topic in these speculations is the possibility that Giannis Antetokounmpo might demand a trade if the squad continues to underperform. However, his teammate Bobby Portis Jr. remains unfazed.

Appearing on "Run It Back," the 6'10" forward dismissed these stories, marveling at how such chatters haven't disrupted the Bucks' locker room chemistry in any way.

Bobby doesn't believe in Giannis' trade rumors

Despite the Bucks' repetitive struggles, "The Greek Freak" has been relentless on the court, averaging 33.3 points and 12.1 rebounds per game. However, the team's offensive woes remain glaring, as they rank among the league's bottom ten offensively.

Beyond Giannis, Damian Lillard has also been impactful, averaging 26.0 points per game. However, the production from key players like Brook Lopez and Portis Jr. has significantly declined, while no other player is even averaging double-digit points.

Moreover, the Bucks' inability to protect leads or recover from slow starts has become a recurring issue this season, fueling rumors about Antetokounmpo's potential discontent. However, "Bobby Buckets" dismissed these claims as mere clickbait, asserting that the two-time MVP and the rest of Milwaukee's squad are more motivated than ever to forge a comeback.

"This my fifth year in Milwaukee, man, every year I've been here they've been talking about Giannis leaving. It's just an every-year type of thing. It kinda gets like a lot of clicks," Portis said.

"Obviously, this year, it's getting more clicks because our record is what it is. There's just so much speculation around the team - can this team get it done? Do we have the right players? For us in our locker room, we're obviously close-knitted…. I don't listen to all of that. Guys in our locker room are locked in," he added.

Milwaukee's supporting cast needs to step up

If anything, Giannis' performances counter any suggestion of waning interest in the franchise. After a 43-point outing against the Boston Celtics that ended in a loss, the eight-time All-Star dropped a staggering 59-point and 14-rebound double-double to secure an OT win against the Detroit Pistons. These hard-fought efforts highlight the immense work Antetokounmpo continues to put in to reignite the Bucks' subpar season.

Unsurprisingly, "The Greek Freak," a vocal leader, only wants his teammates to take more accountability and improve their performance. With a leader like Giannis, they should get in line and follow if they're going to save the season.
