Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant might be one of the most controversial personalities in the NBA today, but there's no doubt that he's one of the most athletic and entertaining players as well.

Morant showed as much on Friday in their NBA Play-In Tournament game against the Dallas Mavericks, as he delivered a gravity-defying dunk that had fans buzzing and the NBA giving it a slow-motion video treatment.

Midway through the first quarter of the game, Grizzlies forward Santi Aldama attempted a floater that bounced off the rim. Fortunately, Morant was there to rebound and recover the ball.

The high-flying guard did more than just get the board, however, as he proceeded to throw down a monstrous follow-up dunk while airborne.

The NBA, for its part, described the play as "poetry in motion" while sharing the slow-mo video of the dunk.

As mentioned, fans were equally hyped by the vicious throwdown, taking it to the comments section to express their takes on the play.

"Ja > Derrick Rose," a commenter wrote. Another one said, "better than ANT but ya’ll not ready for that conversation."

"The face of the league," a fan added.

A supporter shared, "Bro trying to catch a body."

"Wow," a follower stated in disbelief.

A sixth social media user remarked, "Acting up, ALREADY!!!!"

Ja Morant has made headlines recently for his controversial on-court celebrations, with the NBA even slapping him with a hefty fine as a result.

Despite that, though, the 25-year-old continues to show everyone that he's the same electrifying player that can make a massive impact on the Grizzlies.
