Former Detroit Pistons lottery pick Jaden Ivey has made the rounds for all the wrong reasons this season.
From his trade to the Chicago Bulls to admitting he wasn't the same player after the injuries he's battled, Ivey's return didn't go as planned.
Now, the Bulls have released him for conduct detrimental to the team after he went live on social media to call out the NBA over its Pride Month celebrations.
However, the former Pistons guard didn't stop there, and he doubled down on his comments by going on another IG live session before boarding a plane, calling out the Bulls for lying and even taking shots at stars like Stephen Curry and LeBron James.
"They’re liars, bro. This is lying," Ivey said, per Joel Lorenzi of The Athletic. "They’re lying saying my conduct is detrimental to the team. That’s a lie. Ask any one of them coaches in there, 'was I a good teammate?'"
Ivey then claimed that he wouldn't be stopped from speaking his truth, taking shots at Curry and James and stating that all their championships won't save them.
"He [Curry] don't know Jesus. ...I pray he's saved in Jesus name.
All them rings he got. All them rings LeBron got. All them rings Jordan got. All them people in the Hall of Fame who don't know Jesus Christ. They got try to stop me, but I'm not. I'ma keep speaking the truth," he added.
Ironically, Curry has earned a reputation as a man of faith, but perhaps Ivey was just name-dropping James and Curry as the faces of the league, not with the intent to take direct shots at them.
Whatever the case, Ivey is clearly struggling right now, and it might be a while before he gets another shot in the league, not necessarily because of his beliefs or outspoken nature, but because of his lingering knee issues.
