Jake LaRavia had another impressive performance in the Los Angeles Lakers’ victory over the Miami Heat on Sunday.
LaRavia scored 25 of the Lakers’ 130 points in 35 minutes off the bench, and also recorded three assists and eight rebounds.
The forward is enjoying an excellent start to life as a Laker and has already made a name for himself in LA.
In his latest post-game press conference, LaRavia thanked Anthony Edwards for his sudden rise in popularity.
Edwards went viral on social media after the Minnesota Timberwolves’ defeat to the Lakers last week because of his comments about LaRavia.
A TWolves fan shouted “who’s number 12” from the stands and Edwards hilariously replied: “That’s what I’m saying. I don’t know.”
LaRavia scored 27 points in that game and then had 25 against the Heat, so it’s about time that fans got to know him.
He revealed that after the Lakers’ latest win in Miami, he enjoyed hearing three fans heckling the same question.
“I kinda put my hands up like this, and I kinda agreed with him, like, ‘Who’s number 12?’ I kinda played into it a little bit,” LaRavia recalled the incident in Minnesota.
“I find that kind of stuff funny because I am not well-known at this moment, so I’ll just [keep my] head down, working hard, that’s all I do.
“I heard it about three times tonight (vs the Heat). Yeah, I think it’s good. Shout-out Anthony Edwards for allowing that clip to go viral.”

Lakers head coach JJ Redick was very impressed with LaRavia’s 25-point game against the Heat.
He even suggested that he expected the former Sacramento Kings man to have such an impact because of his “knack for the game.”
“It was just another great game from [Jake],” Redick said, via Ryan Ward. “He’s allowing the game to come to him. He’s comfortable with the off-ball stuff and the cutting and just reading the game right now.
“[I’m] not surprised that he’s found a level of comfort, just from coaching against him last year and watching him play when he did play in his first couple of years. He just has a knack for the game. He does.
“He just knows how to play. He’s solid in a number of areas. I think he’s a great complement to our main guys. He’s starring in his own way right now, which is awesome.”
