On Wednesday evening, the New York Knicks kept their season alive by winning Game 5 (at home) by a score of 112-103.
With the victory, the series is now at 3-2 (in favor of the Heat), with Game 6 back in Miami on Friday night.
One of the biggest reasons they were able to beat the Heat on Wednesday was the play of star point guard Jalen Brunson.
The former Villanova star played all 48 minutes and put up 38 points, nine rebounds and seven assists while shooting 12/22 from the field (55%).
According to StatMuse, the 26-year-old is the first player in the history of the Knicks franchise to have that stat line in a Playoff game.

Brunson spent the first four seasons of his career with the Dallas Mavericks and helped them make the 2022 Western Conference Finals.
He signed with the Knicks over the offseason and has been arguably their best player this season.
In the first round, they beat the Cleveland Cavaliers in five games, which was the first time the Knicks have won a Playoff series since 2013.
Through the first ten games of the 2023 NBA Playoffs, Brunson has incredible averages of 26.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 1.5 steals per contest while shooting 45.7% from the field.
Whoever wins the series will advance to the Eastern Conference Finals and face off against either the Boston Celtics or the Philadelphia 76ers.
