Jalen Brunson and the New York Knicks had a chance to close out their series against the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night and advance to take on the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals. With Jayson Tatum out due to a torn Achilles, many expected the Knicks to walk into Boston and get the job done.
That was not the case.
When all was said and done, the Celtics forced a Game 6 on Friday night with a 127-102 win. Despite the game being tied at halftime, Boston took over in the fourth quarter and pulled off the blowout win.
One major storyline during the game was Brunson fouling out in the fourth quarter. Even more eye-opening was the fact that he picked up five of those fouls in the third quarter alone.
Following the game, Brunson was asked about his five-foul quarter. He issued a blunt response to that question.
“5 fouls in one quarter? I don’t know what you want me to say to that," Brunson said.

Throughout the course of the game, Brunson played 33 minutes. He scored 22 points on 7-for-17 shooting and dished out six assists as well.
Outside of the star point guard, New York saw Josh Hart put together a big game with 24 points. Karl-Anthony Towns chipped in 19 points and eight rebounds.
It was clear that the Celtics were on a mission. They had their backs against the wall and they were playing for their fallen teammate.
Game 6 will be played on Friday night with tip time schedule for 8 p.m. ET. Fans will be able to watch the game on ESPN.
Should Boston find a way to pull out another win, the series would move to Game 7 on Monday.
