Jalen Rose: Suns' Robert Sarver is 'one of the worst owners in the league'

Many have taken the NBA to task over the lenient punishment for Phoenix Suns majority owner Robert Sarver amid allegations of racist and sexist misconduct toward team employees.

LeBron James voiced his displeasure earlier this week, and Suns minority owner Jahm Najafi called for Sarver's resignation on Thursday.

On Friday, ESPN's Jalen Rose weighed in on the situation on the "Jalen and Jacoby Show."

Rose has spent more than 30 years around the league as a player and media member and played the final season of his 13-year career with Phoenix. He said he's long called Sarver "one of the worst owners in the league, regardless of record" due to the behavior that has now come to light.

A yearlong investigation into the Suns revealed allegations against Sarver of racism, misogyny and sexual harassment from statements of former and current employees. Earlier this week, the NBA suspended Sarver for one year and fined him $10 million.

For Rose, the punishment does not fit the crime.

"Let me get this right, the way he talked and treated women in his workplace as the boss can now resume overseeing those duties plus overseeing both those teams after one year?" Rose said. "Something more has to possibly be done because while the punishment may end, how he's made people feel is not going to end."
