The matchup between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Detroit Pistons just took an interesting turn. After losing the initial couple of games, the Pistons were hoping for a clean sweep. But in Game 3, the Cavaliers came right back in the contest. With the series tied 2-2, the next game is of utmost importance. And so is James Harden’s injury status.
Following Game 2, Harden reportedly had an injury scare as per Chris Fedor. But putting all the ifs and buts to rest, the 36-year-old suited up in Game 3. And he is also expected to play without a hindrance tonight.
Speaking of Game 3, the 2018 NBA MVP looks to be struggling with his form. Logging in for 40 minutes, Harden only accounted for 19 points, while the heavy lifting was done by Donovan Mitchell (35 points).

However, the 6-foot-5 star did cut down on the turnovers with just 3 in the last game. Earlier, the 17-year-NBA veteran accumulated 47 turnovers, which will be a record Harden won’t be proud of.
Meanwhile, putting up a fairly impressive performance in Game 3, the team would want the star player to improve from there.
Harden had a strong display in the fourth quarter of Game 3. Doing a lot of things right, the 36-year-old’s performance took the burden off Mitchell’s shoulders. And it allowed the latter to play his natural game freely. As in Game 4, the management will hope that the veteran star can replicate that performance in the subsequent games. Otherwise, a 1-3 deficit might prove quite difficult to catch up on.
Following the game, Harden said, “You give me opportunities in this fourth quarter, and I take advantage of them. I’ve done an unbelievable job throughout the course of my career of just understanding what the job needs to be, especially as I get older, and doing whatever it takes to win the game. That’s the most important thing.”
Well, the former Los Angeles Clippers are sounding confident. But the management will rely on results. Having roped him in via a blockbuster trade, only time will tell whether it was worth it.
