The NBA season is over mid-way through, and All-Star weekend is on the horizon. The break is near, and teams will be able to properly recharge and prepare for the back end of their schedule.
For teams like Phoenix Suns, they are competing in a tight Western Conference, battling for a mid-table spot in the playoffs.
Kevin Durant, on the other hand, will be busy during the bre ak, representing the club in the All-Star game. The 36-year-old forward has been superb when on the hardwood this season.
In 39 games played, Durant is averaging 26.9 points, 6.1 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game while shooting 52% from the floor and 40% on 3-pointers.
Durant's co-star, Devin Booker, could be joined in the game as an injury replacement, though that isn't official and, for now, the former MVP will be the only Suns representative in the game.
With the new All-Star format, Durant was drafted to Team Shaq alongside Stephen Curry, LeBron James and much more -- including James Harden.

When Durant's former teammate and the LA Clippers star was told who he would be playing with -- that being Curry, James and Durant -- he had a reasonable response.
"The Avengers or something?" Harden joked, via HoopJab.
Durant, James and Curry led Team USA to an Olympic gold medal this past offseason, giving the basketball world a glimpse of three generational superstars and era-defining players sharing the hardwood together.
NBA and basketball fans will get that opportunity again during the All-Star game -- which has a new format this year -- and Harden will be on the team with them, alongside Jayson Tatum, Anthony Davis' injury replacement, Jaylen Brown and Damian Lillard.
