James Wiseman to join Warriors lineup on March 1?
Darren Yamashita-USA TODAY Sports

The 42-17 Golden State Warriors have a message for their opponents: “This isn’t even my final form.”

In a report relayed on a recent episode of the “Locked On Warriors” podcast, Bay Area News Group's Dieter Kurtenbach revealed that Warriors center James Wiseman is expected to join the lineup on March 1. Wiseman has not played all season after undergoing meniscus surgery on his right knee.

The seven-footer Wiseman has been a forgotten man amidst Golden State’s success this season. But he was the No. 2 overall pick less than two full years ago and adds a dimension the Warriors are currently lacking. In Wiseman’s continued absence, Kevon Looney has been starting at center with Nemanja Bjelica and rookie Jonathan Kuminga sprinkled into the rotation as well. None of those players are taller than 6-foot-10.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr obviously loves to go small and versatile. But the team still values Wiseman extremely highly and may need him in a playoff matchup if they have to go up against someone like Rudy Gobert, Deandre Ayton, or Nikola Jokic.
