Jared McCain had the worst flop attempt of the NBA playoffs

The jokes are writing themselves now that Jared McCain is on the Oklahoma City Thunder.

McCain, the Thunder guard, went viral during Saturday’s Game 3 against the Phoenix Suns for his pathetic flop attempt. In the third quarter at Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix, Ariz., McCain was driving up the floor after a made free throw by the Suns.

After successfully getting in front of Phoenix guard Collin Gillespie, McCain put on the brakes and successfully drew the foul on a tailing Gillespie. But McCain also produced a pathetic flop in an attempt to get free throws on the play. Take a look.

Here is another angle of the play (which shows that McCain was almost parallel with the ground in his comical effort to embellish the contact).

Referee James Capers (No. 19) called Gillespie for a foul on the floor, so the sell job by McCain did not quite work there. But it did not matter in the end as the Thunder still won by a fairly comfortable 121-109 final score to take a commanding 3-0 series lead over the Suns.

McCain, 22, is in his first season with the Thunder after being acquired in a midseason trade with the Philadelphia 76ers. It appears however that McCain has already learned a trick or two from some of his notorious foul-baiting teammates in OKC.
