Jason Love, Sergi Oliva To Join Hawks Staff
USA TODAY Sports via Reuters Connect

The Hawks continue to round out their staff for the upcoming season.

After previously hiring legendary European coach Ettore Messina as a consultant, the team has added Jason Love and Sergi Oliva to fill out head coach Quin Snyder’s bench, the Hawks announced in a press release.

Love spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach with the Bucks, where he focused on player development. Before that, he was with the Sixers for five seasons. He will serve as an assistant coach for the Hawks.

Oliva worked for the Trail Blazers for the past four seasons as the general manager, where he made headlines for being suspended for two weeks without pay for his role in the team illegally contacting Yang Hansen before he was eligible for the draft. He was also the head coach of the team’s G League affiliate, the Rip City Remix, during the 2024/25 season.

Similar to Messina, Oliva has experience with Snyder, having worked as an assistant coach under him with the Jazz from 2020 to 2022. He will serve as a basketball strategy and development advisor for the Hawks.
