There was a lot of talk this offseason about the Boston Celtics undergoing some potentially significant changes, re-tooling the roster while they wait for Jayson Tatum to recover from an Achilles injury, which will likely keep him out for the entire season. Among the names floated in rumors was four-time All-Star Jaylen Brown.
The Celtics ultimately decided to hold onto Brown and the rest of their core pieces, outside of Kristaps Porzingis, who was traded to the Hawks. That didn’t sit well with a lot of hopeful NBA fans outside of Boston, especially ones in Atlanta, who have been dreaming of Brown eventually finding his way back home and playing for the Hawks.
Something the star shooting guard hinted he might be open to in the future.
Jaylen Brown hasn’t closed the door on possibly joining the Hawks in the future, and says his grandma has spoken to him about coming home

This is sure to have a lot of Hawks fans firing up the trade machine, but I wouldn’t expect anything to come to fruition in the near future.
Jaylen Brown is currently under contract for four more seasons with the Boston Celtics and owed $240 million. Any type of trade would be an extremely complicated one and likely require the Hawks to part ways with Trae Young. Maybe that’s something the Hawks would consider closer to the trade deadline, given Young is in the final year of his contract. But these conversations would feel a lot more legitimate several years down the road.
