The Boston Celtics lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves102-92 on Sunday after failing to defend their home court. It was a tough shooting night for the Celtics' stars, Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum. Brown led the team with 29 points, but he had to put in more work on offense, as he shot 34.6% from the field.

Tatum, who played his eighth game of the 2025-26 NBA season, finished with 16 points. The former Duke star shot 37.5% and had a hard time scoring against the Wolves. He contributed in other ways, adding 11 rebounds and two steals.

It was a rough outing for Tatum, and he discussed it in front of the media after the contest.

Jayson Tatum Admits Frustration Over His Shooting Woes

Given that Tatum has missed a significant amount of time due to his Achilles injury rehab, he's been itching to be back on the floor with his teammates. However, the Celtics are putting certain restrictions on the NBA star to avoid risking another setback. After the contest, the star forward admitted his frustration over the shooting woes that he's had, especially after his poor performance against Minnesota.

“It’s tough,” Tatum said. “In the moment, you try not to think about it. You just want to be Jayson Tatum and feel like yourself again. I’m not Superman.

“It’s obviously going to take some time. I think the next day, I can get myself a little more grace over certain things. But in the moment, it’s frustrating.”

Since returning from injury, Tatum has given the Celtics another spark on both ends. Although his time on the floor is limited, he makes sure to put his fingerprints on the game and do everything he can. The star forward remains a threat on offense, but he's also exerted so much effort on the other end.

Tatum couldn't contain his frustration in the game, and he earned the first technical foul of the season. During his time with the media, the star forward was asked if he thought he deserved to be called for his first technical foul of the season.

“Not really,” he said. “I was frustrated, he wasn’t responding. He didn’t like the way I was communicating. I asked for a tech and he gave it to me.

Tatum wasn't too hard on himself, though, as he still had a good laugh about his technical foul.

“I ask for fouls all the time, I don’t get those.”

Tatum and the Celtics look to bounce back from their loss on Wednesday against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
