Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

The Boston Celtics defeated the Indiana Pacers , 111-114 in a thrilling encounter in game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals, stretching their lead to 3-0. Notably, the Celtics’ star player Jayson Tatum was full of praise for his teammate Jrue Holiday due to his gutsy game-winning steal in the last seconds of game 3.

After the game, Tatum claimed that Holiday is one of the best players on the Celtics’ roster and always gives his ‘all’ to the team in any game. Tatum also claimed that Holiday is the ‘Ultimate teammate’ and is blessed to have him on his side. Interestingly, this was not the first time that Holiday dropped a defensive masterclass on the Pacers.

In the post-match press conference, after the game, Tatum was questioned regarding Holiday’s performance and impact on the Celtics’ side.

Can’t speak highly enough about Jrue. The ultimate teammate, competitor, and obviously a champion. … Jrue’s a big-time player and he made a tremendous play. Jayson Tatum replied

On the sports side of things, Jayson Tatum was on fire for the Celtics in game 3 against the Indiana Pacers as he and his Celtics side are just 1 win away from qualifying for the NBA finals. Tatum dropped a whooping 36 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists on the Pacers in his game 3 win.

Tyrese Haliburton’s praise towards Jrue Holiday after game 1 should not go unnoticed

Jrue Holiday of the Boston Celtics played one of his best performances against the Indiana Pacers in game 1 of the Eastern Conference Playoff Finals on May 22. He scored 28 points and had eight rebounds when he faced the Pacers. In addition to that, he also played excellent defense against Pacers’ standout Tyrese Haliburton.

Haliburton was astounded by Holiday and commended him for his outstanding performance, labeling him the finest NBA defender.

He's the best defender in the NBA and has been for a long time. ... I'll learn from it, and I'll be better in Game 2. In the post-match press conference, Tyrese Halliburton said

On the contrary, Haliburton and his Pacers side never delivered after his bold words during game 1. The Pacers went on to lose both games later, Game 2 and Game 3. With the Celtics needing only 1 win to knock the Pacers out, it remains to be seen whether the Pacers change this series or get swept 4-0 in their next matchup.
