Jimmy Butler is coming home, and he’s bringing coffee with him. Starting in mid-November, the six-time NBA All-Star’s Bigface coffee brand will operate a mobile trailer at the Fairfield Market H-E-B, located at 28550 US-290 in Cypress.
The move marks Bigface’s first presence in the Houston area and puts Butler’s passion project just minutes from the community where his story began.
Before he became one of the NBA’s most respected competitors, Butler grew up in Tomball, a suburb northwest of Houston. His path to stardom was anything but easy.
After playing junior college basketball, he transferred to Marquette, where his relentless work ethic caught the attention of NBA scouts. The Chicago Bulls selected him with the 30th pick in the 2011 NBA Draft.
From there, Butler built one of the most decorated careers of his generation. He has played for the Bulls, Minnesota Timberwolves, Philadelphia 76ers, Miami Heat, and Golden State Warriors.
Along the way, he earned six All-Star selections and five All-NBA honors, and he led Miami to two NBA Finals appearances. Now a member of the Warriors, Butler is working his way back from a torn ACL suffered in January 2026. Bringing Bigface to the Houston area adds a personal chapter to his off-court success.
Bigface was born in one of the strangest settings in sports history. During the 2020 NBA season restart at Walt Disney World, players were confined to a controlled bubble for months.
Butler packed an espresso machine for his hotel room and started brewing drinks for teammates and opponents.
His coffee quickly built a reputation inside the bubble. Butler famously charged fellow players $20 per cup, and the steep price did little to slow demand. What began as a quirky side hustle grew into a real business.
Bigface opened a flagship cafe in Miami and launched a line of merchandise and coffee gear, turning a bubble-era hobby into a lifestyle brand.
