Jimmy Butler had to carry a heavier load for the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night as Steph Curry sat out Game 2 against the Minnesota Timberwolves because of a hamstring strain.
Butler wasn't bad, finishing with 17 points on 6-of-13 shooting, seven rebounds, four assists, a steal and two triples in 34 minutes of action. It was far from enough, though, as Minnesota utterly dominated Thursday's contest, en route to a wire-to-wire 117-93 blowout victory.
After the game, Butler was asked about his current condition given the team's injury crisis on the Steph Curry front. Butler admitted that he's still hurting from the pelvis injury he sustained against the Houston Rockets in the first round.
“Yeah, for sure," Butler responded when asked if he's still feeling the effects of his injury, "but believe it or not, dominoes, coffee, and kids make it all better.”.

After suffering a bad fall in their Game 2 loss to the Rockets, Butler was forced to sit out Game 3. He was able to return for Game 4, and he hasn't missed a game since.
Butler has been playing through the injury, but it is clear from his admission on Thursday night that he is far from a hundred percent. Be that as it may, the six-time All-Star has also implied that he has no intention of sitting out any further games because of this issue.
The Warriors will need a big game from Butler come Game 3 on Saturday. This series now shifts to the Bay Area for the next two games, with Curry already ruled out for both of them.
This puts even more pressure on Butler to step it up for his team as they look to bounce back from their Game 2 shellacking.
