The Golden State Warriors were decimated by multiple injuries to their core players this season. Jimmy Butler has been ruled out since January after suffering a torn right ACL. Stephen Curry is dealing with a suspicious knee injury as well. As a result, he’ll be on a minutes restriction in GSW’s play-in game against the Los Angeles Clippers.
But there’s no doubt that the Warriors’ title hopes were in jeopardy the moment Jimmy was ruled out for the rest of the season. They were expected to become one of the best teams this year, but sadly, the result was far from it. However, despite their woes, Jimmy Butler still found time to troll everybody when he dropped a hilarious report about his availability in the play-in tournament.
“I am listed as doubtful for Wednesdays game against clippers. stay tuned for updates,” Jimmy Butler posted on Instagram. “@shams report this,” he added.
Is Jimmy playing? No, he’s not. He’s out for at least a year – maybe even a bit longer. At already 36 years old, the six-time all-star is facing a tough road just to get back on the court. Safe to say that the odds – at this point – are against him. There’s a chance that his all-star playing days are in the rearview mirror.
It may take a while to see Butler get back on the court for the Warriors. A torn ACL typically sidelines a player for 9 to 12 months. At Jimmy’s age, there will be unforeseen challenges in his recovery and rehabilitation process.
Despite the long road ahead, Jimmy Butler found the time to shoot some corner threes, arguably delighting Dubs fans all over the world. The 2026-2027 season would be a critical one for the Warriors. That may be their last hurrah before heading into a painful yet inevitable rebuild.
