Even the worst enemy of the Golden State Warriors wouldn’t want to see their recent outlook like that, which looks nothing short of bleak. The injuries have faltered the roster so badly that their shooters have to shoot with their left hand.
However, as Jimmy Butler hints at with his latest activity video, the days of despair are about to wear off.
After a devastating ACL tear kept him out for months, his latest rehab footage gives good hope as he’s already pushing toward a strong comeback.
Recently, a video circulating online showed the Warriors star casually knocking down corner shots in an empty gym, even doing it in flip-flops. It wasn’t anything intense, but it didn’t need to be. As far as he’s moving well and he’s locked in, that’s enough for the Bay Area fans to live by.

However, the six-time All-Star was on the sidelines since January after suffering the injury in a win over the Miami Heat, with surgery following in February. Typically, an ACL recovery stretches close to a full year, especially for a veteran player.
That context makes even light on-court work a positive sign this early in the process. Though his injury was a blessing in disguise.
More importantly, Butler himself has made his mindset clear. He wants to return as soon as his body allows, but without forcing it.
“Whenever my body’s ready,” he said earlier last month,
For Golden State, injuries across the roster derailed their season, from Butler to Moses Moody and the prolonged absence of Stephen Curry. The focus now is survival in the play-in and, beyond that, resetting for next year.
The Golden State Warriors aren’t officially shopping Jimmy Butler, but the way their offseason is shaping up, the conversation is impossible to avoid completely.
This season has largely unraveled due to injuries. Butler has been out for months now, Stephen Curry has missed extended time, and the team hasn’t had its core intact for over two months.
Also, the most predictable result is a Play-In ceiling and a roster that clearly isn’t built to contend in its current form.
Golden State doesn’t have cap space flexibility, and its young asset pool isn’t exactly overwhelming. If the front office wants to make a serious push to maximize what’s left of Curry’s prime, it will have to get creative.
One of the few movable pieces that can unlock a blockbuster deal is Butler’s contract. From a purely strategic standpoint, it makes sense. The veteran wing is 36, coming off a major injury, and doesn’t align cleanly with any long-term timeline. Using his deal as a matching salary in a trade package could allow the Warriors to chase a bigger, healthier star.
But it will only be a thing to discuss when the front office decides. Until then, let’s hope for a stellar comeback from Jimmy Buckets.
