The Golden State Warriors acquired Jimmy Butler from the Miami Heat in February. The team went 23-7 with Butler in the lineup and beat the Houston Rockets in the first round of the 2025 playoffs.

The Warriors defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 1 of the second round on the road. However, Steph Curry suffered a Grade 1 left hamstring strain in that contest and missed the rest of the series.

Without Curry, Golden State lost four games in a row to Minnesota.

Curry, Butler and Draymond Green are tied together, as they have the same number of years left on their contracts.

The Warriors' third-leading scorer from this season, Jonathan Kuminga, becomes a restricted free agent this offseason and he's drawing interest from a team Butler played for.

According to Jake Fischer of The Stein Line, the Chicago Bulls are interested in Kuminga, who turns 23 in October.

Butler played for the Bulls from 2011-12 to 2016-17.

"It does seem, at this juncture, that the most likely outcome for the Warriors' restricted free agent swingman is a return to Golden State," Fischer wrote. "However, sources say that Chicago has an ongoing interest in the 22-year-old forward."

Kuminga played in 47 games for the Warriors this season. He averaged 15.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists while shooting 45.4% from the field, 30.5% from beyond the arc and 66.8% from the foul line.

Kuminga has career averages of 12.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists. He won the 2022 championship with the Warriors.

As a restricted free agent, Kuminga can either re-sign with the Warriors or sign an offer sheet with another team. Golden State can match any offer sheet Kuminga signs.

It will be fascinating to see where Kuminga is playing next season.
