The Los Angeles Lakers are an intriguing mix of youth and experience, a team that retooled this offseason in hopes of keeping pace with and surpassing the NBA champion Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Lakers have a chance to stay near the top of the NBA's jam packed Western Conference, but it's going to take plenty of tweaking on the fly from coach J.J. Redick and his staff as Los Angeles continues to tinker with and find the right combinations of players.

Recently, Redick was asked about one the Lakers' alleged, most glaring flaws: phyiscality.

He responded in an assured way that should give LA fans hope for the rest of the season.

Redick Responds to Loaded Question

Redick responded to a questions about the Lakers' physicality during the team's practice.

"They know what we mean by physicality," Redick said.

"They've done it. We've shown it."

Redick called on his team to practice good habits for the purpose of improving and reaching their ceiling.

"It's part of the habit thing that we have to build for us to be a great team eventually," he added.

"We have to be physical in everything we do. And that sometimes can get reflected in fouls," Redick cautioned.

Redick added that turnovers on the offensive end sometimes limit his team's ability to be physical, another point of emphasis in practice.

"You can certainly look at stats...You can see it and feel it when we're not being physical," the former NBA guard said.

Lakers Set to Face Raptors

The 15-5 Lakers hit the road to face the 15-7 Toronto Raptors in a game between two of the NBA's most underrated teams scheduled for Thursday night.

The Raptors have won 10 of 12 games and have been led in scoring by a brigade of players including Brandon Ingram, Scottie Barnes, R.J. Barrett and others, showing off their versatility.

The Lakers have the cohesiveness and star power to run Toronto out of the gym but the Raptors have shown they are capable of surprising anyone on any given night.

The game is scheduled to be aired on SportsNet LA and NBA League Pass with Luka Doncic expected to be absent because of a personal reason and Barrett out due to a knee issue.
