The Los Angeles Lakers have proven to be one of the best teams in the Western Conference to begin the season.

The Los Angeles Lakers have been able to overcome LeBron James missing the first 14 games of the season and Luka Doncic sitting out a few games as well.

The Lakers have faced another recent injury to Deandre Ayton, but JJ Redick expects Ayton to be back sometime in the next week.

The Lakers currently sit in second place in the West and are 4 games back of the No. 1 seed Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Los Angeles Lakers have 13 wins through 17 games

Redick has done a phenomenal job so far this season with the Lakers. The Lakers are off to their second best start through 17 games since the 2010-11 season.

Do you think Dalton Knecht can get back to this form for the LA Lakers?

There has been only one other season in the Lakers’ last 16 seasons, where they have had 13 or more wins in their first 17 games.

The Lakers’ best start was back in 2019-20, where they started the season 14-3. The Lakers went on to win the NBA title that season.

Redick and the Lakers have to feel good about where they stand to begin the 2025-26 season.

The Los Angeles Lakers have an excellent chance to continue their win streak

The Lakers have won 5 games in a row, which is the second longest win streak in the West behind the Thunder’s 10-game mark.

The Lakers have the fourth longest win streak in the league and they will have a great chance to add onto it. The Lakers take on the Dallas Mavericks and the New Orleans Pelicans in their next two games, who are a combined 8-30.

After that, the Lakers take on the Phoenix Suns and then they square off against a hot Toronto Raptors team.

If the Lakers can keep racking up wins, they can separate themselves from the Denver Nuggets, who are tied with them in second.
